Shift: 10:15 AM -7:00 PM Mon - Fri for office hours.Various assigned shifts, hours may vary; includes rotating call,weekends,and/orholidays; additional overtime required.

How you will contribute to LifeNet Healths success:

 

Laboratory Technologists perform moderately to highly complex laboratory testing in microbiology, chemistry, analytics, and non-clinical (industrial) procedures. This position maintains quality records,initiatesreporting, coordinates, executes, and assists in the design, development, and revision of technical training and staff development programs for the department. Supports the CAPA (Corrective Action Preventative Action) process by applying technical and quality skills to assist in conducting investigations. Partners with other departments as needed to ensure appropriate and timely analysis, root cause, impact assessment, and corrective actions are completed.

 

Important: This role requires the ability to sit, stand, bend,andwalk for the duration of the shift; as well as wear personal protective equipment toinclude:surgical gowns, masks, visors or goggles and caps.

 

This role is critical to the LifeNet Health mission because it is an important step in taking the donors gifts and transitioning them to lifesaving and health restoring allografts for patients around the globe.

 

What youll do:

Performs and interprets moderately to highly complex laboratory testing in microbiology, chemistry analytics and non-clinical (industrial) testing according to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and within established timeframes. Performs quality control according to established procedure. Maintains technical competency; performs testing with accuracy and precision. Reports test results using manual and laboratory information systems (LIS) according to established procedure; maintains complete and accurate departmental and donor records. Performs laboratory proficiency testing as required by regulatory agencies.

Makes sound decisions based upon established procedure, rules, regulations, facts, and logic. Recognizes and reports atypical events encountered during performance of tests and documents CAPA when required.

Monitors and operates laboratory equipment according to established procedure.

Assures a safe, clean and orderly work area including maintenance of reagents, supplies, and stored samples. Monitors supply and reagent levels, notifying appropriate personnel when supplies are needed.

Collaborates with management to understand and coordinate, execute, and assist in the design/development/revision of technical training and staff development.

Assists in conducting investigations. Ensure appropriate and timely analysis, root cause, and corrective actions for deviations from the laboratory.
