Renton Technical College Custodian - Swing Shift in Renton, Washington
Join our team at Renton Technical College! This full-time classified and overtime eligible position is a member of the custodial team and reports to the Custodial Supervisor. Custodians provide students, staff, and community with a safe and healthy educational environment. The custodial team is part of the emergency team and is required to report to work when the college is closed due to emergencies. This role is open until filled.
We are seeking three qualified candidates. The Custodian I / Swing Shift position is represented by the AFT-WA Employees Association. The pay range for this position is $21.05-$29.17 *hourly *and salary placement is based on applicable work experience. Benefits are listed on our benefits page{rel="nofollow"}.

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions Include
Demonstrate multicultural competence (including an awareness and understanding of historically minoritized populations) and create an educational and work environment that affirms commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
Maintain general cleanliness of interior and exterior of the facility. This includes working effectively independently and in a team atmosphere to accomplish assigned tasks.
Maintain floors, walls and windows in assigned buildings.
Collect, transport and properly dispose of all trash and recycling as assigned.
Clean, disinfect and restock restrooms and locker rooms.
Clean and sanitize food prep and service areas.
Move furniture, equipment, and supplies as required.
Report mechanical malfunctions and damage or hazards to buildings and grounds to Custodial Supervisor.
Shovel snow from entrances, stairs and walkways. Spread de-ice as needed.
Replace and recycle all lamps (fluorescent/bulbs, etc.) and batteries as needed.
Maintain two-way communication at all times when on duty.
Open and secure buildings as assigned by the Custodial Supervisor.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the general public.
Empty outside trash receptacles as assigned. Pick up litter inside and outside from sidewalks, walkways, stairwells, planted areas, and other common areas daily.
