Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Renton, Washington

Description

We are in search of a parttime Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Renton, Washington. This role primarily involves managing all financial aspects of our construction projects, including budget creation, expense tracking, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will be adept at project costing, budgeting, and forecasting, and will use these skills to provide accurate financial data for strategic decision making and operational adjustments.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all financial aspects of construction projects, including budget creation and control, tracking project expenses, and estimating and validating cost forecasts.

• Coordinate with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders for billing and project cost tracking.

• Prepare financial statements, month-end closing reports, job cost analyses, and other financial information in a timely and accurate manner.

• Establish job cost procedures and controls, and ensure the integrity of the job cost ledger.

• Prepare cash flow forecasts for construction projects.

• Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.

• Manage internal controls and processes for financial management and reporting.

• Prepare and file construction-related tax returns.

• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

• Collaborate with external auditors, providing all necessary information for audit processes.

• Assist in the annual budget preparation.

• Keep track of contract agreements, change orders, and other project financial commitments.

• Develop and maintain relationships with project team members, vendors, and clients.

• Utilize skills in Accounts Payable (AP) and Bank Reconciliations to perform job duties effectively.

Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) processes

• Demonstrable experience in performing Bank Reconciliations

• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and regulations

• Excellent data entry skills with a high level of accuracy

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills

• High level of organization and attention to detail
