Generac Clean Energy Solutions is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to help develop next-generation renewable energy products. In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of disciplines, including analog, digital, and microcontroller PCB design, product firmware, failure analysis, power electronics, high-voltage battery systems, and battery management systems working with a talented and experienced team of engineers.
This is a fulltime role for the summer of 2025 with potential to extend into the fall semester part-time and is located in our Reno NV office
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist with design of laboratory status monitoring system including electronic hardware
Work with programming languages that can communicate with electronic hardware
Work with teammates to run various electrical tests
Build or modify PCBAs or subassemblies
Minimum Qualifications:
- Actively enrolled in an accredited 4-year electrical engineering program
Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of basic electrical concepts
Read and interpret electrical and electronic schematics
Background in working with programming languages that communicate with electronic hardware
Proven technical experience through academic or passion projects
Experience with micro-controllers (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP 32)
Understanding of AC and DC power
Basic understanding of Linux OS
Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
