Exciting Opportunity for a Controls CAD Draughtsperson.

We are searching for a Controls CAD Draughtsperson to join our busy team based in Renfrew.

As a Controls CAD Draughtsperson - Screw Compressors, you will primarily be responsible for creating and controlling CAD design drawings for the Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls department relating to the packaging of screw compressors.

This is a permanent opportunity working Monday to Thursday 8am until 4.15am & Friday 8am until 2pm. We offer hybrid working for this role which will allow you to enjoy the balance of home working and collaboration time with the team in our modern, friendly offices which include free onsite parking.

What Needs To Be Done?

  • Provide draughting support to E,I&C engineers throughout detailed design project phase.

  • Communicate any identified technical issues to appropriate E,I&C engineer and offer practical solutions where available.

  • Plan and organise workload in conjunction with E,I&C team to ensure timely completion of drawings

  • Ensure all work undertaken considers commercial and financial implications of task from a business perspective

  • Use Continuous Improvement methodologies to promote Built in Engineering Quality concepts into Standard work. Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Commercial and Procurement teams to drive improved manufacturing and supply chain performance and early defect detection

  • Ensure adherence to company environmental, health and safety standards in compliance with company policies to ensure a safe working environment and the minimisation of environmental impact.

To be successful you must have …

  • Essential skills, knowledge & behaviours

  • Minimum Education: HNC/HND Calibre in an Engineering discipline or suitable experience .

  • Proven experience in AutoCAD by Autodesk software

  • Good communication, presentation and reporting skills

  • Good team-working skills and ethic

  • The ability to prioritise and plan effectively

  • The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

  • Sound commercial awareness

Desirable skills, knowledge & behaviours

  • Knowledge of Autocad Electrical by Autodesk

  • Familiarity with PID diagrams

  • Familiarity with control panels
