SAIC Army Business Development Director in REMOTE WORK, Michigan

SAIC is looking for a Business Development Director to lead growth for our Ground Systems account based in Warren, MI. The Business Development Director is responsible for targeted SAIC offerings in the areas of integrated mission IT solutions, platform integration, digital engineering, and software development for key Army customers. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the Army’s ground system programs and initiatives, strong relationships, and a proven track record of assessing and winning high-value contracts.

The Business Development Director will work as an integral part of growth team that includes the Account Vice President, Capture Managers, Solution Architects, Subject Matter Experts, Program Managers, and their peers across the enterprise of SAIC. This team will inform future capability roadmaps to ensure SAIC differentiation and identify and customize organic capabilities and partnering opportunities to deliver critical capabilities across the Army, including current on contract growth and future new business opportunities.

The Business Development Director will pro-actively create, shape, and help to win new contract opportunities leveraging SAIC tools and processes to analyze, develop and manage a dynamic, multi-year pipeline of opportunities in various stages of maturity. The Business Development Director is involved in identifying, shaping and closing opportunities to grow current contracts with SAIC technology and innovations that meet our customers’ needs and advance national security objectives.

While the position allows flexwork, viable candidates must live near the Detroit Arsenal in Warren, Michigan as frequent interaction with Government customers located there is expected.

The successful candidate will:

  • Identify and pursue a pipeline of new business opportunities that align to SAIC strategy and growth objectives

  • Drive engagement plans with key stakeholders, including government officials, military leaders, and industry partners with the ability to effectively communication SAIC solutions and capability offerings

  • Leverage and expand current business development strategies to grow our market presence

  • Be clearly informed on Army market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop proposals, respond to RFPs, and secure contracts

  • Lead SAIC initiatives for industry events, conferences, and trade shows

  • Be team oriented and work well in a highly productive, highly accountable, small team environment including collaboration with capture managers, program managements, subject matter experts, and functional leads

  • Demonstrate effective communications and interpersonal soft skills

  • Support developing teaming agreements and strategic alliances

  • Assess probable competition and evaluates relative strengths and threats – conducts or assists with black-hats, competitive scenarios, etc.

  • Participate in gate reviews, pricing, teaming, and capture reviews

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of related experience; four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.

  • A minimum five-years’ experience developing and implementing capabilities/solutions for complex challenges within the Army.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer technical requirements into viable solutions leveraging SAIC and partner technologies and services.

  • Highly effective interpersonal skills working with technical leaders and business executives within SAIC, with Army customers, and with teammates and subcontractors.

  • Established relationships within the Army, specifically with DEVCOM GVSC, PEO GCS, PEO CS&CSS, NGCV CFT, TACOM.

  • Business experience with DoD customers with focus on innovation and technology insertion; understanding of advancements in technology and revolutionary concepts that offer potential enhancements or breakthroughs in military capabilities.

  • In-depth understanding of the Army contracting environment, regulations and processes; knowledge of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) a plus.

Clearance

  • U.S. Citizen with or able to obtain a Top Secret clearance (active TS clearance is highly desirable)

Location

  • Warren, Michigan

Travel

  • Up to 25% travel

Target salary range: $200,001 - $240,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
