Who you are

  • You have complete mastery of CSS, know when to use grids vs. flex-box vs. floats, and have a deep appreciation for CSS variables

  • You have an opinion about atomic CSS and other approaches to writing CSS

  • You have an appreciation for semantic HTML and writing clean JavaScript

  • You have a solid grasp of the DOM, CSS inheritance, selector specificity, and how to debug JS

  • You have experience building themes and templates for other platforms

  • You are a self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced environment

  • You enjoy contributing to multiple projects simultaneously and can shift focus fast

  • You can work efficiently with minimal supervision

  • You have a bias for action and an itch to improve existing processes

  • You have a knack for building tools to simplify developer lives

  • You enjoy tinkering and building tooling to improve everyday tasks

  • You appreciate the back of the fence as much as the front

  • You have exceptional spoken and written communication skills

  • You would rather hop on a 5 minute zoom than go back and forth in slack

  • You have at least 8 years of relevant web development experience

Nice to haves

  • You have a preference for CSS naming conventions

  • You have contributed to open source projects

  • You know what jank-free scrolling means, and you are totally for it

  • You enjoy presenting your work to a global developer community

  • You are comfortable with following standards but also defining them

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
