We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Project Manager within our Product/Program managementteam to help support our Home Furniture business. Our Home Furniture business brings an intense focus on the customer, innovation, world-class manufacturing capabilities, and a global footprint together to create full package solutions for the industry. We do not make furniture. We make furniture more comfortable. We need the best people on our team to support our strategy, and your work will ensure people around the world have a little more comfort in their lives.

Although the position is remote, the ideal candidate would live near one of these locations, HighPoint, NC; Leithchfield, KY; Carthage, MO; Tupelo, MS, or Chattanooga, TN.

As a Project Manager you will have the opportunity to drive the cross functional activities required to launch projects from development to production. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by ensuring product solutions, dates, and financial targets are optimized to meet planned solutions and customer needs. The team you will be working with is growing and developing, and values diversity of thought .

So, what will you be doing as a Project Manager?

  • Lead cross functional teams through the project launch process as part of the Idea to Launch process.

  • Execute stage gate project management steps (Define, Design/Test, Feedback/Approval, Tooling, Launch).

  • Support product planning activities via timeline and resource planning inputs.

  • Act as the central point of contact between sales and engineering, ensuring clear communication of design goals and efficient resolution of technical challenges.

  • Research, investigate, and drive cutting edge thinking to pursue industry innovative products, processes, and technology.

  • Actively support a People First culture and work environment through competencies and behaviors.

  • Proactively look for ways to continuously improve, grow, and try new things

    To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • 6+ years of project management experience in a consumer product, technical, or B2B environment preferred.

  • In-depth conceptual and practical knowledge within the project management space as well as extensive experience managing projects from ideation to completion.

  • Proven ability to manage resources in a matrix environment without direct supervision – from Spreadsheet to Project Management Software

  • Experience successfully managing multiple complex projects.

  • Ability to lead team members in a project management environment.

  • Ability to work in global teams as well as independently with minimal guidance

  • Creating project charters/deliverable documents

  • Creating project timelines for cross functional teams

  • Ability to communicate project plans and timelines to cross functional teams

  • Managing critical path in a project management environment

  • Ability to solve complex problems

  • Ability to communicate with external customers

  • Ability to effectively solve problems and recommend solutions as needed

    Things we consider a plus:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Business or related field preferred
