Our Consulting | Professional Services Product Implementation team has an opening for a fully competent Senior Project Management professional who has a broad understanding of solutions and industry best practices in the utilities industry. This Senior Project Management position provides consistent creative and high quality client-facing project leadership. Employs independent judgment in guiding highly complex activities involved in the successful implementation of an integrated business solution, ensuring project quality and timely delivery within budget to the customer’s satisfaction. Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle’s solution meets the customer’s objectives by combining industry best practices and systems integration expertise. Effectively applies Oracle’s methodologies, policies, and procedures while adhering to contractual obligations, thereby minimizing Oracle’s risk and exposure.
As a Senior Project Director, you will play a lead role in developing and maintaining the client relationship and referenceability during all phases of a complex systems integration project. You will provide executive level leadership and governance over the project and act as Oracle’s single point of contact for the project, leveraging your experience to convey global best practices and lessons learned and liaise with other Oracle Utilities customers or engagement teams. Effectively influences decisions at the executive and management levels of customer organizations. Independently resolves escalations and manages complex issues, risks and dependencies across multiple client projects. Provides oversight and strategic guidance to project delivery, including mentoring and coaching of the project manager(s). Ensures deliverables are acceptable and works closely with the customer to understand and manage project expectations. Supports business development efforts by pursuing new opportunities and extensions. Collaborates with the consulting sales team by providing domain credibility. Ability to travel as required up to 75%.
10 years of experience relevant to this position including 5+ years of complex software systems integration project management experience with project budgets in excess of $10M.
5+ year consulting experience in a professional services organization
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
Proven ability to deliver successful Project outcomes
Experience managing multiple project teams
Experience with Oracle Utilities CC&B system implementations highly desired or competing CIS systems.
Utilities industry domain experience is required.
A strong background in Project Management and Program Management, including experience developing work-breakdown structures and project plans, most notably in Microsoft Project.
Excellent client management skills and the ability to work with customers to develop and manage an implementation plan.
Experience managing complex dependencies, risks and issues across multiple projects, client organizations and third parties.
Demonstrated experience in translating customer business requirements into workable world class software solution.
Exceptional escalation management skills.
Experience developing cost estimates for Professional Services efforts, as well as presenting value propositions
Must have managed Program/Project Budgets in excess of $10 Million Dollars
Agile Methodology experience preferred
Experience creating and presenting SOW for new and existing customers
Excellent customer relationship acumen, including comfort interacting at the “C” level
Experience successfully delivering presentations
Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and negotiation skills
Consulting and project management experience in a SaaS environment is a plus
PMP or other Project Management certifications is a plus
Six Sigma certification is a plus

Recommends and justifies enhancements to Oracle products to meet highly complex customer needs. Exercises creativity and independent judgment in identifying and resolving significant and unique issues and risks impacting project success. Leads high performing consulting teams on very challenging projects. As a thought leader and trusted advisor, effectively influences the most difficult customer decisions and business transformation. Ensures deliverables are acceptable, and works closely with the customer to understand and manage program expectations. This position works closely with all Oracle lines of business, partners and third-party vendors to ensure program delivery success. Enables business development efforts by providing domain expertise. Manages the scope of large-scale programs and accounts with high levels of complexity.
10+ years of experience relevant to this position including 5+ years of project management experience. Second-level management experience preferred; proficient at managing managers and large team. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage projects of increasing complexity with commensurate professional sophistication. Comfortable working in matrix management environment. Strong influencing and negotiation skills to deal with internal stakeholders, customers, and vendors. Product, technology or industry expertise relevant to the portfolio focus. Proficient in using selling and negotiation techniques and tools. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. PMI certification preferred. Ability to travel as needed.
