International Sales & Business Development Manager Location: Fort Wayne, IN OR Remote Level: Salaried Division / Department: Sales & Business Development Reports to: Director of INCOM & International Sales Travel: Typically 26 weeks out of the year including markets About the Role: The International Sales and Business Development Manager is a key consultant responsible for driving sales growth, enhancing service to our member-owners, and acquiring new business internationally. By providing innovative products, programs, and services, this role aims to boost the sales and profitability of member-owned locations. Success in this role requires active listening, reactive problem-solving, and proactive consulting with support staff, current members, and prospective members. Responsibilities include:
Collaborate with international members to maximize their purchasing potential through a deep understanding of Do it Best Corp. programs and training initiatives.
Develop and expand international markets by identifying and recruiting new, high-quality members. Leverage resources such as local chambers of commerce, foreign consulates, and trade associations to identify prospects and define marketing strategies.
Conduct individual and group meetings in target markets to showcase the benefits of partnering with Do it Best Corp.
Assist the Director of International Sales in creating user-friendly programs for international hardware and building material retailers.
Develop bilingual sales and marketing materials, as well as presentations tailored to international audiences.
Promote and sell the Do it Best Corp. design program to targeted international retailers with the drive, expertise, and financial resources to succeed.
Collaborate with international members and internal teams to enhance operational and distribution processes specific to the international sales landscape.
Continuously evaluate markets and environments to ensure adequate market coverage. Encourage members to expand by exploring opportunities for new site locations and acquisitions.
Attend Do it Best and industry events, including seminars, conventions, and meetings, to stay informed about industry trends.
Provide timely reports and weekly updates detailing accomplishments and activities in assigned regions.
Stay informed about retailing and industry-specific news through trade journals and resources, sharing relevant insights with international member-owners.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Business, or a related field.
Experience developing international business relationships.
Proficiency in standard business software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
International travel experience.
Professional experience in the international business field preferred.
Background in the home improvement or retail industry preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Proven outside sales experience or experience within Do it Best Corp. International.
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish.
Strong ability to meet deadlines and objectives.
Effective teamwork and collaboration experience.
International sales expertise.
Retail home improvement industry experience on an international scale.
