Scholastic Director, Product Marketing in Remote, New York

Job Description:

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a full time temporary role ending in September 2025

The Director, Product Marketing is a critical leadership role responsible for the positioning, marketing, and execution of the go-to-market strategy for the success of a portfolio of products. Reporting to the VP of Product Marketing, the incumbent will work closely with product development, product marketing, brand & communications, growth marketing, partners in corporate marketing, design, sales, editorial operations, and cross-functional teams to:

  • Drive the messaging, positioning, pricing, promotion, sales enablement, go-to market strategies and revenue goals for assigned portfolio

  • Develop marketing strategies that deliver on business objectives, revenue/ROI potential while helping customers realize expected outcomes.

  • Lead and coach a team of product marketing managers

RESPONSIBILITIES

Be the market and customer intelligence expert for assigned product portfolio. Represent the voice of our buyers and users in critical decisions. Act as internal thought-leader on market & competitive trends

Create and execute the GTM Strategy with actionable marketing plans with clearly defined goals, objectives, and strategies to achieve the annual revenue, use, and satisfaction targets.

  • Lead the development of data-driven promotional & activation plans, manage the marketing budget to support organizational objectives and revenue goals.

  • Own the product story and messaging through the creation and oversight of development of the product name, marketing visual identity, and messaging frameworks that will be used to support all stages of the customer journey.

  • Lead product & services bundling & pricing for assigned portfolio.

  • Develop and refine sales enablement strategies to support the selling process at all stages of the customer journey.

  • Establish and execute a consistent strategy across subscriptions for customer experience to improve product purchase, implementation, use, and renewal.

  • Lead, coach, and support product marketers for assigned portfolio

  • Collaborate across cross-functional boundaries to solve complex business problems and delight customers

  • Support other relevant projects & duties as assigned.​

Qualifications

HOW YOU CAN FIT (Qualifications)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Deep knowledge of K-12 education space & trends impacting reading instruction.

  • 15+ years of experience in marketing

  • Successful track record of successful product launches. Experience with complex products a plus

  • Significant experience in developing and implementing marketing strategies in highly matrixed environments

  • Superior leadership qualities: vision, communication, innovation, emotional intelligence, integrity & business acumen

  • Experience in managing and developing a team.

  • Ability to set priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Experience : 15+ years

Education:

  • Bachelor’s in Marketing, Business, Psychology or related disciplines.

  • MBA preferred.
