A Brief Summary of This Position:

This position is an individual contributor responsible for leading and managing the territory sales rep organizations to support the group’s business goals. Accountable for the achievement of in-territory revenue goals by sales rep organization, product, and customer. Will lead the development and promotion of knowledge, acceptance, and use of company products by users and purchasers. Responsible for building and maintaining key internal and external relationships. Establishes account strategy for internal team and rep organization and keeps all levels informed on key issues and opportunities.

Essential Functions:

  • Reports to the Director of Sales with no direct or indirect reports

  • Requires up to 50% domestic travel

  • Achieves or exceeds revenue goals consistently

  • Provides accurate market intelligence and customer forecasts for the territory

  • Develops a sales rep organization capable of marketing products and maintaining customer satisfaction

  • Builds and maintains skills in motivating, training, time management, negotiation, and more

  • Provides Voice of the Customer feedback and drives continuous improvement efforts

  • Supports the launch of new products and services

  • Maintains strong customer relationships within the assigned territory

  • Attends sales meetings, conferences, and trade shows

Other Important Details:

  • Manages customer communications and targets new client development

  • Acts as the main contact for key customers

  • Focuses on forecasting, price management, and competitive analysis

  • Leads proposal process and contract negotiations

  • Manages all aspects of Rep relationships, including performance

  • Identifies and engages target markets for all product families

  • Evaluates training needs and coordinates strategies with internal resources

  • Completes pre-bid profiles and coordinates follow-up activities

  • Evaluates Rep commission structure quarterly

  • Completes quarterly territory and account plans

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of progressive sales management experience; or Associate's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience; or 10+ years of relevant experience.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, and experience with CRM software.

  • Experience managing representative firms and executing account strategies.

  • Proficiency in value-added selling.

  • Demonstrated leadership, commercial competencies, and cross-functional communication skills.

  • Ability to travel up to 50% domestically with a valid US driver's license.

  • Skilled in delicate customer negotiations and making sound judgments to balance customer satisfaction with company interests.

  • Strong oral and written communication abilities, with the capability to present information clearly and concisely to both management and customers.

  • Capacity to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, coupled with a passion for excellence and integrity.

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

  • Ten years of sales management experience with utilities
