GE Vernova’s Gas Power business engineers advanced, efficient natural gas-powered technologies and services, along with decarbonization solutions that aim to help electrify a lower carbon future. As part of the Gas Power One Field Services team, FieldCore installs, maintains and upgrades power generation equipment, enabling operators of the world’s energy infrastructure to provide more reliable and affordable energy.

FieldCore is looking for an exceptional Generator Diagnostic Specialist to join our Field Operations team based in Italy.

Let’s Talk about the Role

As the Generator Diagnostic Specialist, you will support the Inspection & Life Extension Services (I&LES) and will be responsible for on-site Inspection and testing to safely accomplish the maintenance and repair of the heavy-duty generators used in power generation applications. Extensive training and mentorship will be given to help ensure your success in the role.

How you will make the difference:

  • Perform visual inspection of Generator components, Exciter, and auxiliary equipment.

  • Operate robotic inspection equipment.

  • Electrical testing (DC and AC) on Generator main components, Exciter, and auxiliary equipment.

  • Acquire and evaluate generator health monitoring data.

  • Interpret test results to determine maintenance requirements.

  • Troubleshoot generator equipment failures and anomalies.

  • Develop, produce, and deliver formal customer reports.

  • Identify and execute improvement projects in the field of Generator testing and inspection.

  • Effectively communicate with resource manager, Field Engineers, Product Service Engineering and Customers during all phases of the inspection cycle (pre-job, test execution, post job meetings).

  • Extensive Travel will be required, most tasks are of short duration <2 weeks, however some are longer.

  • Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required by field assignments.

  • May be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization’s core values.

Skills for success :

You will be an accomplished Electrical Knowledge and knowledge of technical documents. It is also important that you:

  • Have an ability to interpret, write, and assemble technical documents, drawings, reports.

  • Are Skilled in customer communications and has a Positive can-do attitude with the ability to communicate with internal and external customers.

  • Have Good organizational, project management oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Have Strong ownership and work ethic, with a willingness to learn and problem solve.

  • Commitment to environmental health and safety.

  • Have creative thinking and quick problem solving.

  • Experience in Field Services or Power Generation.

  • Understanding HV electrical testing and safety.

A formal education and subsequent University Bachelor or Master’s degree Electrical Engineering, or Electrical Apprenticeship are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
