PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $188,700-$230,800 annually. The full Pay Range is $146,900-$272,700 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:

The Director of Deposits, Pricing, and Portfolio Management is entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing an approximately $30 Billion consumer and business deposit portfolio. This role includes developing profitable growth and retention strategies to support the financial goals of our members.

In partnership with leaders of the deposit product management team, this position focuses on creating a strong value proposition for deposit products to support our members. Collaboration with various departments including marketing, finance, risk management, legal, sales, and information technology is essential to consistently deliver leading product and pricing offerings that meet member needs and optimize profitability.

The individual in this role is accountable for managing portfolio performance and implementing pricing strategies to drive growth and profitability through in-depth analysis of member behavior, market trends, and competitive landscape. Collaborating with Treasury and Finance to validate assumptions used in asset/liability management, interest rate risk scenarios, and funds transfer pricing is also a key aspect of this position.

This role can be done remotely from WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, SC, GA, and is relocation eligible.*

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Manage Deposit Profit & Loss (P&L): Play a crucial role in growing membership in line with BECU’s purpose and ensure the achievement of business plan and expectations.

  • Review and Manage the Product Set: Analyze financial results, marketing strategy, market competitiveness, member experience, and regulatory compliance to enhance the value proposition for deposit products.

  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to applicable regulations and mitigate associated risks to support the organization’s purpose in supporting our members.

  • Provide Coaching and Training: Enable growth and development by providing ongoing mentoring and training to individuals and teams.

  • Deliver Product Performance Reporting: Develop and provide product performance reporting to executives and key governing committees, inclusive of benchmark data in partnership with SVP of Deposits and business partners.

  • Optimize Product Mix: Utilize segmentation to drive acquisition and retention strategies that support member financial wellbeing.

  • Manage Vendor Contracts and Relationships: Ensure BECU members receive cost-efficient and quality service by managing vendor contracts and relationships effectively.

  • Mitigate Risks: Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks associated with business activities in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, management, statistics or related discipline or equivalent work or educational experience

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience as a product management, data science, or visualization leader for products and/or platforms, from strategy to market, to ongoing improvements

  • Minimum 5 years of people management experience

  • Experience working with consumer and business deposit products

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Experience using PriceTek

  • Experience in the financial services industry

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree

  • Understanding of Product P&L, member value, and return on investment/return on assets drivers

  • Highly analytical with experience leveraging different types of data to form hypotheses and ultimately build and recommend a strategy

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex concepts to executives in summary form

  • Ability to influence and work across technical and cross-functional or highly matrixed teams

  • Knowledge of federal laws, rules, regulations that impact financial institutions industry
