Antech Diagnostics Regional Transportation Manager (m/w/d) in Remote, Germany

The Transportation Regional supervises day-to-day activities in their region.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Handle all transportation related work within assigned territory. To include, but are not limited to, overseeing the daily sample pickups for thousands of Antech customers. This is achieved through managing all routes with the use of employee drivers, 3PL drivers, and independent contractors through their assigned courier companies.

  • Handle complaints from customers pertaining to transportation.

  • Collaborate with Director of Transportation on projects and strategic initiatives

  • Responsible for efficient operation and cost control, budget management

  • Reporting of KPIs to management

  • Maintain constant communication with all levels of management of the courier companies operating in their area.

  • Personally oversee courier company changes within an assigned territory when necessary. To include the formulation of the bid packets, answering all questions related to the bid packets, obtaining bids from the courier companies and then forwarding that information with personal recommendations concerning the bids to upper management for a final decision.

  • Evaluate and optimize routes to best serve Antech by reducing cost while giving our customers the best service possible

  • Work with sales and operations to ensure needs are being satisfied

  • Work with accounting on any billing issues from courier companies.

  • Work with other RTMs on inter-regional transfers

  • Coordinate shipping and delivery of work for pathologists as needed

  • Coordinate shipping and delivery of emergency supplies for labs as needed

  • Mapping, pricing and approving additions to existing routes.

  • Audit routes using numerous methods, including but not limited to, physically visiting all areas, riding with drivers, spot checking drivers and insuring all Antech SOPs are being followed

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree

2-3 years’ experience dealing with B2B customers

Logistics experience preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Prolonged standing/sitting/walking/driving

  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds; may occasionally need to lift 40 pounds; carrying up to 15 pounds for several minutes at a time

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with clients, supervisors and peers

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Laboratory environment with potential biohazards present

  • Works with limited supervision with latitude for independent judgment.

  • Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments.

  • Potential for exposure to agents known to cause zoonotic disease in humans and use of potentially hazardous chemicals as defined by the National Hazard Communication Standards. A complete list of such chemicals is available from department supervision.
