General Electric Design Liaison Engineer in Remote, China

Job Description Summary

This role of Design Liaison Engineer is a central position at the interface between GE OFW Jieyang plant and GE OFW Engineering, between field issues resolution and design considerations, and will be a key person for successful, high quality and on-time components deliveries in Jieyang assembly plant. The person will solid-line report to OFW China Engineering Manager within OFW China organization set up, and dotted-line report to Design Liaison Manager in GE OFW HQ.

Essential Responsibilities

As the Design Liaison Engineer, you will be located in Jieyang plant which assembles Offshore Wind Nacelles Prefabricated Power Modules. Your essential responsibility will be to follow and support the plant in all Engineering activities in order to provide quick and accurate solutions to field issues. The close contact with the plant provides an opportunity for the Design Liaison Engineer to propose engineering changes with direct added value to the plant.

In summary, you will:

  • Coordinate technical subjects between OFW Engineering Organization and Supply Chain activities in Jieyang Plant

  • Be the point of contact of Engineering in Non-Conformities tool (eNCN)

  • Help the NCR and Engineering Change processes to work properly

  • Resolve part of the Non-Conformities detected in the plant

  • Propose Engineering Changes based on experience from the Workshop

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Engineering Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university – Preferably Electrical Engineer

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience of electrical/mechanical components, applications and practices

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional and global environment

  • Comfortable working in a matrix structure having hierarchical & functional manager.
