The Opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity to participate in modernizing a legacy web-based application by using cutting edge cloud technologies and modern user interface (UI) libraries and framework. You will have the opportunity to contribute and enhance your skills in a highly dynamic environment with a talented technical team. This is a remote position expected to be working in Eastern Time zone.

Responsibilities:

  • The UI/UX Designer blende user experience (UX) skills and front-end development to modernize existing User Interface screen and ensure the new screens are usable, stable, and attractive to the end user including aspects of branding, design, usability, and function.

  • The Designer applies design thinking methodology to reimagine complex business workflows to develop UI and business process design.

  • Studies and evaluates how users interact with a system, looking at things like ease of use, perception of the value, utility, and efficiency in performing tasks.

  • Leads user meetings in defining enhancements and requirements for enriching user experience.

  • Utilizes user research and be able to productize the user needs into a compelling product vision through branding, high fidelity mock-ups, Persona, user journeys and storyboards to gain user and organizational consensus.

  • Organizes information to understand human behavior as it relates to their projects and create interactive experiences that engage users.

  • Collaborates with users, business analysts and developers to create concepts, iterate, and test the application.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Five years or more experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role.

  • Has Portfolio of design projects for review.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to lead discussions with end users and business leads.

  • Experience in wireframe tools. (e.g. wireframe.cc, InVision)

  • Expertise in using design tools like Figma, Sketch or Adobe XD.

  • Experience in using Open-Source UI Components Libraries and Angular/React Templates to design UI screens and produce functional html outputs.

  • Experience working in a distributed and remote team environment.

  • Bachelor’s Degree.

Desired:

  • Knowledge of U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) for Federal Government.

  • Experience in Fluent UI or MaterialUI – library and theme.

  • “Current residence in Eastern or Central time zones is highly desired.”

Pay Range : There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. Since this position can be worked in more than one location, the range shown is the national average for the position.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$68,400-$143,700
