Applied Materials Embedded Linux Software Engineer ​ in Rehovot, Israel

Applied Material Israel (PDC) is looking for a skilled embedded SW engineer to be part of the scanning electron microscope (SEM) FPGA group. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a highly talented multi-discipline team and be a part of product innovation on cutting-edge technologies.

Our Group:

  • SEM group design state-of-the-art, nano-resolution scanning system.

  • The SEM FPGA Group is composed of engineers of FPGA, embedded SW, and verification.

What you'll be doing:

  • Be a part of a multidisciplinary team where teamwork and collaboration are key to success.

  • Your software will be aware of HW on one hand, and will integrate with high-level SW on the other hand (Using modern protocols such as GRPC)

  • Bring up new designs with embedded FPGAs using Linux.

  • Develop real-time applications and Python applications under embedded Linux.

What should you have?

  • B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering / Software Engineering / Computer Science / Communication Engineering.

  • 3+ years of embedded Linux.

  • 3+ years of experience in C/C++.

  • Experience with ARM processors.

  • Significant Linux user-space experience

  • Extensive knowledge in BSP, building the embedded Linux system (buildroot/yocto) and boot process.

  • Experience in board bring-up, porting, and test equipment.

  • Self-learner with the ability to gain knowledge about new technologies.

  • Positive, energetic, team player, and committed person.

Advantages

  • Experience in real-time systems.

  • Experience with Xilinx MPSOC/Zynq environment.

  • Familiarity with AXI methodology.

  • Experience with Network Layers 1-3.

  • Experience with Multi-threading/processing.

  • Object Oriented (OOP) experience.

  • Linux kernel space experience.

  • Experience with Xilinx tools like Vitis.

  • Familiarity with high-speed communication protocols (100G Ethernet).

  • Experience with GIT or similar tools.

  • Experience with Signal Processing.
