Business Intelligence Report Developer Job Description

Summary

Our company is seeking a motivated and career-driven Business Intelligence Report Developer to join our delivery team. You will play a key role in designing, developing, implementing, and supporting essential BI reports.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop reports using various tools (SSIS, SSRS, SSMS, Power BI, ERP).

  • Create, improve, maintain, and troubleshoot data warehouses.

  • Extract, analyze, and transform data based on project needs.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and document business reporting requirements.

  • Translate business needs into clear specifications for reports and dashboards using various data sources.

  • Modernize legacy reports into up-to-date BI solutions.

  • Ensure reports and dashboards are available and perform well for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Resolve help desk requests related to reports and dashboards (documentation, knowledge base creation, communication).

  • Provide technical support and cross-training to team members.

  • Train users on generating ad-hoc reports.

  • Design and implement best practices, guidelines, and standardized processes for BI reporting.

  • Provide excellent customer service and follow service management principles.

    Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 2+ years of experience developing and implementing enterprise reports and dashboards using Power BI (or similar tool), including:

  • Requirements analysis with users

  • Data warehouse implementation

  • Logical and physical data modeling

  • Advanced T-SQL skills (stored procedures, troubleshooting complex queries)

  • Proficiency in Power BI (or similar tool), query performance analysis, and improvement

  • Understanding of data integration issues (validation, cleaning, complex data structures)

  • Leadership qualities for mentoring and collaborating with team and management

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft software

Overall, this position is ideal for a candidate with strong technical skills in data analysis, reporting, and data warehouse management. You should also be a team player with excellent communication and customer service skills.
