Key Responsibilities
Organize and update the company's tax calendar
Prepare monthly and quarterly state sales tax returns
Prepare property and other tax returns
Assist in filling annual Federal and State Income tax returns for US
Assist in filling annual Federal and Provincial Income tax returns for Canada
Prepare tax payments
Perform Month-end tax close duties
Monitor and resolve various tax notices
Enforce tax compliance to reduce future tax exposure
Identify tax savings and recommend tax strategies that maximize that goal
Keep on top of tax trends and changes related to taxes
Liaise with internal and external auditors
Any other tasks as assigned by management
Qualifications
BSc degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant subject; industry certification (e.g. CMA or CPA) is preferred
3+ years as a Tax Accountant, Tax Analyst or Tax Preparer
Goal oriented
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Must be able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining high quality and a focus on detail
Computer literacy (MS Excel in particular)
Strong numeracy skills
Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
