Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Redwood City, California

Description

The Accounts Payable Specialist at Robert Half's healthcare technology client will be responsible for managing the company's accounts payable process, ensuring all invoices are processed accurately and timely, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Processing: Accurately receive, review, and verify invoices, ensuring they meet company policies and have the appropriate approvals. Enter invoices into the accounting system promptly.

  • Payment Management: Prepare and process electronic transfers, payments, checks, and ACH transactions, ensuring timely and accurate payment to vendors.

  • Reconciliation: Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies quickly and efficiently. Maintain accurate accounts payable records and reports.

  • Vendor Relations: Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors. Address and resolve any payment issues or discrepancies with professionalism.

  • Expense Reports: Process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and accurate reimbursement.

  • Month-End Closing: Assist in month-end closing procedures, including preparing accounts payable accruals and related journal entries.

  • Audit Support: Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explaining accounts payable processes.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and best practices. Stay updated on changes in accounts payable procedures and regulations.

  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements within the accounts payable function to increase efficiency and accuracy.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role, preferably within the healthcare or medical technology industry.

  • Skills:

  • Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Familiarity with AP best practices and relevant regulations.
