About the Position: Serves as a Staff Action Control Assistant, providing administrative support, advice, and recommendations to the G-1 Directorate team. AMCOM provides continuous Aviation, Missile, Calibration Sustainment, and Material Readiness in support of the U.S. Army & our Allies. NK-02 pay band is equivalent to GS -5 to GS-7. Responsibilities Provides administrative support, advice, and recommendations to the Director, Deputy Director, and staff members on matters relative to the coordination, integration, and synchronization of staff actions, events, and activities Provides support for control and processing of incoming correspondence; prepares computerized control records in the AMCOM Tracking System for correspondence and enter all correspondence for control purposes. Ensures all levels of staff coordination have been accomplished for each task. Serves as a staff subject matter expert as Defense Travel Administrator (DTA) and in all travel related areas. Composes and prepares correspondence and performs managerial actions to include performance support forms and ratings, master employee roster, records management, badging, forms control, freedom of information acts. Operates automated systems, with various software programs, to aide in the classification, retention, storage, retrieval and automated staff action suspense control system of the Army's records. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes preparing reports, facts sheets, position papers, and correspondence using Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; processing staff control actions to include taskers utilizing a tracking system; reviewing documents and correspondence for proper format, grammar, spelling and punctuations for distribution to Command staff; managing all related travel utilizing travel systems, such as, Defense Travel System; and providing guidance to travelers and approving officials on application regarding Joint Travel Regulations. This definition of general experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NK-01/GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 36. Then divide your total number of completed undergraduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 120. Add the two percentages.
