We are looking to hire a Cloud Systems Solutions Developer to support our Enterprise IT Support Services work at the Army Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC). AvMC is the Army’s focal point for providing research, development and engineering technology and services for aviation and missile platforms across the weapons systems life cycle. AvMC’s mission is to “deliver collaborative and innovative aviation and missile capabilities for responsive and cost-effective research, development, and life cycle engineering solutions” to equip the Warfighter with the best technology today and tomorrow.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide services that enable cloud computing solutions for AvMC applications.

  • Provide support for the implementation, configuration, administration, governance, troubleshooting, and maintenance of cloud-based systems.

  • Support the deployment and maintenance of hardened containers, and the development and maintenance of Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines within the existing DevSecOps platform infrastructure.

  • Provide configuration and architecture documentation for DevSecOps systems, and document standard operating procedures for the administration, operation, and maintenance of DevSecOps systems.

  • Support application rationalization for Government approved applications to determine business value, technical fit, fit for purpose, and total cost of ownership for Cloud adoption.

  • Monitor and manage system resources, including allocation, utilization, and performance measures to maintain operating efficiency.

  • Perform troubleshooting and diagnosing of production problems as well as correct identified problems within the permission roles assigned to AvMC administrators.

  • Perform systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts.

  • Collaborate directly with cloud hosting and software development teams to address technical challenges at the platform level.

Requirements:

  • BS/BA in related field

  • 10 years of related work experience

  • Be proficient in modern data processing environments, including cloud computing, DevSecOps patterns

  • Proficient in one or more domains of cloud architecture and design including but not limited to infrastructure (to include Kubernetes clusters), networks (to include API management and service mesh), and systems integration (to include DevSecOps platform management)

  • Knowledgeable in administering Kubernetes within G6 Tanzu Kubernetes environment

  • Knowledgeable in Terraform, Docker, creating/administering containers, GitLab Kubernetes administrator, Container and Artifact Repository administration (GitLab or VMware specific), Object Store administration.

  • DoD 8570 Level II/III certification desired

  • Active Security clearance required
