Robert Half Purchasing Coordinator in Redondo Beach, California

Description

We are inviting applications for the position of Purchasing Coordinator. Located in Redondo Beach, California, this role is integral to our Wholesale Distribution - Dur Goods industry. The Purchasing Coordinator with us will be primarily engaged in vendor management, market research, purchase order management, and internal data analysis. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct market research to identify trending brands and beneficial purchase opportunities.

• Enhance working relationships with vendors and supervise vendor activities.

• Monitor vendor performance concerning delivery deadlines and order completeness.

• Utilize internal data to determine the best vendor for in-demand items and categories.

• Manage purchase orders, oversee shipping schedules, and maintain accurate purchase records.

• Liaise with warehouse staff to compare deliveries with purchase orders and identify discrepancies.

• Review purchase orders for correct item data, pricing, and deadlines.

• Evaluate offerings from vendors and conduct competitive research to confirm demand potential.

• Work collaboratively with various internal teams to enhance our company mission statement.

• Continually monitor the purchasing department's efficiency and suggest improvements when necessary.

• Must have 3 years of buying.

Requirements • Proven experience in a purchasing role, preferably within the Wholesale Distribution - Dur Goods industry.

• Proficiency in relevant software applications including Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing management systems.

• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Ability to analyze and interpret complex data, including financial reports and market trends.

• Knowledge of purchasing procedures and best practices.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.

• Ability to make decisions under pressure and solve problems effectively.

• Proven track record in reducing costs and increasing efficiency in purchasing processes.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Willingness to continually update knowledge and skills.

• Familiarity with relevant legal and regulatory standards in the industry.
