Microsoft Corporation Technical Program Manager II in Redmond, Washington

Azure Networking builds, operates, and manages Microsoft's global network which is one of the largest private networks on the globe. The IP Services team manages the IP Address inventory for Microsoft which includes responsibilities for everything from implementing technologies such as Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), partnering with Security to ensure the highest level of protection, as well ensuring the inventory is utilized effectively and efficiently.

The position requires a technically oriented Technical Program Manager II who will drive IPv6 deliverables for an end-to-end experience. As part of this effort, expect to learn about teams and services across Microsoft as you interface with them to understand their applications and services and what is needed to implement IPv6. In addition, customer interactions will be necessary as you learn their scenarios for IPv6 enablement and how Microsoft can help them be successful in implementing Ipv6. The opportunity provides the flexibility to work from home, from the office or a mixture of both.

Responsibilities

  • Building collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams and drive alignment on the IPv6 roadmap.

  • Appropriate level status reports and dashboards which include reporting to various levels of leadership on progress, gaps, and where help is needed.

  • Identify where there are clear technical blockers and path forward to address the blockers.

  • Correlate escalations to ensure correct prioritization.

  • Lead semester planning coordination across teams based on prioritization.

  • Communicate with customers about what is possible and, where appropriate, the roadmap to success for the customer.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years of experience in product/service/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.

  • 1+ years of experience in management of cross-group, cross-disciplinary teams.

  • 2+ years of experience implementing IPv6

  • OR designing, implementing Networking infrastructure.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience and understanding of IPv6 and experience implementing IPv6 strategies.

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure technologies.

  • Experience leading engineering teams and ability to coordinate large scale programs.

Technical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
