The Margin Strategy Investment Operations (MSIO) finance team is an exciting and fast-evolving finance team at the forefront of Microsoft’s Cloud-first strategy. We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to help shape the future of our cloud products.

To be successful with partners and portfolio leads, the role requires a mix of strong analytical skills and process excellence abilities to provide deep business insights and guide financial decision making & execution. In addition, the successful candidate will have strong executive presence, the ability and confidence to work across organizational boundaries, understand and effectively communication complex concepts, and influence results to drive maximum return for Microsoft.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Senior Finance Manager to partner with engineering leaders to drive Digital Transformation through a planned and holistic approach to resource allocation and execution, optimizing Microsoft company investments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drive quarterly forecast, annual target setting/budgeting, long range planning.

  • Provide leadership to the business with respect to financial management, resource prioritization and allocation. Drive analytical and conceptual thinking with the business that extends beyond the numbers into strategy.

  • Provide analytics and financial support on contract negotiations with vendors to drive continued cost savings for Microsoft.

  • Drive process optimization and simplification for core financial rhythms

  • Ensure technology investments are aligned to key priorities and recommend opportunities to re-allocate and re-deploy resources.

  • Actively communicate across multiple stakeholders to ensure successful end to end understanding of portfolios, processes and planning.

Qualifications

Minimum/Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or Finance work experience

  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience

  • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year(s) experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.

  • 1+ year(s) work experience in matrix-based organization.

  • 1+ year(s) work experience in the technology or software industry.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Association of Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA) or equivalent certification.

  • Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking

  • Proven data and financial modeling capabilities and ability to work with financial systems.

  • Ability to communicate complex analysis in a simple way. Executive level oral and written communication skills.

  • Self-starter driving best-in-class decision support in ambiguous environments.

  • Strong partnering capabilities, with the ability to influence others without direct authority and push back when required.

  • Strong interpersonal and cross group collaboration skills. Ability to drive simplicity within a complex and matrix environment.
