Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband network connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

Key job responsibilities

Project Kuiper Marketing is seeking a customer-obsessed Sr. Art Director to join our team. They will obsess over—and take ownership of—the mechanics of creative content production. They will seamlessly switch from designing high-fidelity PowerPoint presentations that communicate Kuiper’s mission and value proposition to global enterprise customers and policy-makers, to adapting/developing 3D system iconography, to designing custom mission patches, to animating 3D objects that bring our technology and services to life. The Sr. Art Director will be digitally-savvy and adept at adjusting to change, approaching challenges with a problem-solving mindset. They will continue to define our brand standards as we grow globally. They will be a flexible collaborator, proficient in implementing creative best practices and providing guidance to the Kuiper team and our partners.

They are professional, hold the highest standards, and a fast learner. They have experience applying sound judgment in a fast-paced, goal-oriented, and changing work environment. They are a detail-oriented planner with demonstrated ability to communicate and respond effectively while maintaining flexibility. Basic Qualifications

  • Degree in design, visual/3D graphic design or brand strategy, marketing, or commensurate experience

  • 5+ years as a Designer, Art Director or similar Digital Creative Marketing role with a portfolio of design projects (a portfolio will be requested)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing cross-functional relationships with product, consumer research and marketing teams to develop strategy and consumer insights that drive compelling creative executions

  • Experience managing creative (internal team of designers, copywriters, external agencies and freelancers)

  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud design suite of tools (Illustrator, In Design, Photoshop)

  • Expertise in PowerPoint design and PowerPoint template design

  • Ability to share ideas and receive feedback from business partners and stakeholders through presentations and writing

  • Demonstrated ability to create high-quality, original graphic designs and visual elements across all media

  • Experience leading creative development of innovative creative from concept to delivery

  • 5+ years of experience working in direct collaboration with product marketers, design leaders, and stakeholders for implementation of visual design and marketing campaigns, brand standards and design specs/guidelines

  • 2+ years of industry experience as a visual designer, marketing designer, graphic designer, or similar VX-related role.

  • Proficiency in KeyShot or similar 3D render software

  • Proficiency with animation software (e.g., Adobe After Effects, Cinema 4D, Maya/Max, Blender, etc.)

  • Experience working with game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine)

  • Fluency in best practices for web-based design, and demonstrated knowledge of design principles and techniques

  • Deep understanding of digital, social and “on-the-horizon” media; experience creating graphics and animation for social channel

  • Proven experience implementing visual designs for mobile/web products and developing visual design systems to serve broader products

  • On-set video and photo production experience

  • Proficiency with illustrating and presenting design ideas and approaches

  • Experience designing for Lego (or another content management system/CMS)

  • Balance of creative and organization skills with experience using Project Management software (e.g., Bynder, SmartSheet)

  • Impeccable attention to detail, excellent art direction and design sensibility

  • Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $113,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $210,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
