We are hiring for the “Windows in the Cloud” engineering team where we build beautiful client applications and delightful experiences that are used by more than 100 million users every day to access Windows as a remote desktop. Our vision is to provide the world with the best expression of Windows from any client, any operating system (OS) and any form factor, using the newly announced Windows App (What is Windows App? As a Software Engineer II working on the Windows App, you will work on blurring the lines between local and remote, for Frontline and Information workers. Responsibilities
You will design and implement new Windows 365 Cloud PC features, with a special focus on seamless integration with OS platform capabilities
You will work across organizations, collaborating with internal partner teams such as Microsoft 365, Windows, Microsoft Teams, and others.
You will be involved in the design and implementation of secure, distributed, scalable, and resilient services using modern technologies.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Windows OS integration and client-side functionalities
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR equivalent experience
2+ years of experience in software development using development technologies such as C++, C#, or TypeScript
Other Requirements
Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements that are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
Expertise in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions
Expertise in Component Object Model (COM), Windows Runtime (WinRT), Windows Services, and Windows OS development
Expertise with cross-platform client application development
Expertise in modern C++ or C#. dotnet
Expertise in modern web frameworks like React or Microsoft FAST
Expertise with remote desktop protocols such as Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP), Independent Computing Architecture protocol (ICA) and Remote Framebuffer protocol (RFB) is a plus
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
