Halo Studios is looking for our next Senior Software Engineer to help create a new Halo FPS developed in Unreal Engine 5. By working with key stakeholders across multiple disciplines within Halo Studios, you will help build innovative game features for our next title. As an experienced game developer and software engineer, you’re comfortable both implementing features based on existing design specs and specifying and documenting them yourself. Roles at our studio are flexible, and you can work from home up to two days a week in this role.

Design, implementation, and maintenance of FPS features in Unreal Engine 5, including but not limited to gameplay systemsand AI systems, in C++ and Blueprint.
Work with a cross-functional team of designers, artists, producers, testers etc to estimate and document technical proposals.
Carefully consider technical tradeoffs to ensure robust, performant system implementations that scale to millions of players across a variety of hardware endpoints.

Required qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR equivalent experience.
4+ years experience with industry standard or proprietary game engines (e.g. Unreal Engine).
4+ Experience developing AAA video games for console and/or PCin C++.
Experience developing / debugging multithreaded systems AND/OR games on consoles.
Preferred qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, or C#.
OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, or C#.
OR equivalent experience.
2+ shipped video games on console and/or PC.
8+ years engineering experience at a Game Studio.
Experience developing features for a multiplayer game.
Experience developing & debugging systems that make use of 3rd party SDKs
Experience with Python or other high-level scripting languages
Ability to forge partnerships with design to build memorable gameplay experiences.
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
