Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer in the Mesh Platform and Services team, you will work alongside product managers, research, 3D experiences and service developers and other partner teams building the media platform which powers real-time inferencing, processing and delivery of spatial audio, video, avatars and human pose information. We are looking for a self-driven individual who can drive engineering solutions by demonstrating technical depth and cross team collaboration. You will also be expected to provide technical direction, coaching and mentorship to other members on the team.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years of software engineering experience shipping high quality software to customers using coding languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, or Rust

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ year of experience supporting live services, i.e. troubleshooting, and triaging on a rotational, on-call basis.

Other Requirements:

This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience shipping high quality production cloud services to customers using coding languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, or Rust

  • Proficiency in building services using modern .NET, Docker Containers and Kubernetes.

  • Experience in building compliant CI/CD and release management pipelines.

  • Well-developed problem-solving and analytical skills with a solid understanding of the entire software development lifecycle. 

  • Demonstrated communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with the ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
