Microsoft Corporation Senior Director of Product Management - Gaming in Redmond, Washington

As Senior Director of Product Management in Gaming Ecosystem, you, along with your team, will be responsible for defining and driving execution of the Xbox console ecosystem strategy & roadmap, rationalizing the needs of players, developers, partner’s, and the Xbox business. A significant part of this role is building and maintaining successful relationships with partners across HW manufacturers, and Silicon component suppliers to enable you to steer and align product roadmaps that deliver compelling and successful dedicated gaming devices into the market.

In this role you will have frequent touch points with internal and external executives and need to be a clear communicator who is able to effectively align stakeholders at all levels of leadership across engineering, business, and go-to-market topics.

Skill with mapping and aligning dependencies, stakeholders, defining success criteria, tracking execution, growing a team, and direct management of people are required. You will report directly to the Xbox console and console ecosystem GM.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities :

  • Engage with the silicon ecosystem at the business and product leadership level to influence roadmaps and ensure a healthy supply of gaming-oriented components.

  • Define the overall ecosystem facing roadmap and strategy inclusive based on the needs of players, developers, partners, and the Xbox business.

  • Define success criteria (OKRs, etc) and track and drive execution

  • Align executive level leadership across the company to align and manage dependencies and secure productive internal cooperation in support of the strategy

  • Engage external partners at the executive and working levels as the face of Xbox and as their primary contact to develop products from initial concept to product release with support of your team

  • Manage, coach, and grow a team of Product Managers and TPMs in a culture of collaboration and team spirit to effectively execute.

  • Lead discussions at all levels of Xbox leadership to provide status and strategy updates and to gather feedback, and align priorities

  • Communicate horizontally within the organizationto ensure effective execution and collaboration

  • Build programs to effectively scale partner facing programs over time with a focus on continuous learning and iterative improvement

Qualifications

Required Qualifications : 

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or hardware development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 6+ years people management experience, leading technical teams.

  • 5+ years working with customers in a pre- or post-sale capacity.  

  • Experience with the Silicon Industry and Device Manufacturers, and demonstrated history of strategic planning and business developmentin the consumer electronics industry.

Preferred Qualifications : 

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or hardware development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years people management experience.

  • Proven ability to partner with 3rd party device manufacturers and ship successful products in collaboration.

  • Broad and deep technical background in partnership with the Silicon industry with general knowledge of silicon architecture and manufacturing across CPU and GPU

  • General understanding of hardware development cycle.

  • Ability to influence at the Executive level work across multi-discipline teams.  

  • Proven ability to create business and engineering deals, negotiate, and close deals.

  • Passion for the gaming industry

  • Exceptional ability to negotiate and collaborate across teams and organizations.   

  • Demonstrated history of building and coaching high impact teams.

  • Keen technical aptitude, data focus, and analytical skills. 

  • Proven ability in creating and sustaining a diverse and inclusive culture.

  • Experience handling significant ambiguity and rapid change. 

  • Comfortable presenting to large audiences and engaging with press and analysts

Product Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $161,600 - $286,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $209,600 - $314,400 per year.
