Meta Robotics Control Policy Researcher - Reality Labs Research in Redmond, Washington
Summary:
At Reality Labs Research (RL-R), our goal is to explore, innovate and design novel interfaces and hardware subsystems for the next generation of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences. Our team is looking for a roboticist and experienced ML researcher to work with a collaborative team of researchers within Meta’s Reality Lab Research team. This team is leveraging groundbreaking advances in tools for human data collection, novel embodiments and ML-based control policies, thereby paving the way for generalizable and reliable robotic manipulators. You will work with a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of researchers, engineers, and designers, and will have access to cutting edge technology, resources, and testing facilities.
Required Skills:
Robotics Control Policy Researcher - Reality Labs Research Responsibilities:
Conducting collaborative research on developing control policies for a range of robotics platforms
Development of brand new machine learned control policies such as Video Language Action models, Imitation Learning, and Reinforcement Learning
Development of robotic data collection sets and evaluations
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Ph.D. in computer science, engineering, or relevant degree and 5+ years experience working in robotics or related field
5+ years experience with generative AI models such as transformers, LLMs, VLMs, VLAs, and diffusion models
5+ years programming in Python, PyTorch, or JAX
A track record of research output with your work published in top conferences and journals such as Robotics (RSS, ICRA, IROS, CoRL, T-RO, IJRR), Machine Learning (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI, JMLR), and Computer Vision (CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, TPAMI)

Understanding of modeling and analysis used in robotics including kinematics, dynamics, motion planning, perception, task planning, and control theory
Experience working with robot manipulation
Public Compensation:
$147,000/year to $208,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
