The Efficiency and Optimization team is responsible to provide the tools and platforms that collect and analyze data from across Azure to create the insights our customers need to efficiently develop and operate their services across the Azure Cloud. Our team works across several Microsoft organizations that include core infrastructure, service owners, business managers, finance, and other stakeholders to maximize the Azure resource utilization for our customers running services in Azure. We do this by developing and enriching the data insights from our ML driven tools like Cloudfit, Azure Spend, Azure profiler, Performance diagnostics and Interruption management systems.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a strong technical Program Manager who is passionate about using data and collecting customer feedback that helps to shape the strategy and drive this strategy and execution for our Azure Spend platform. Azure Spend is primary source and go-to platform for all the teams across Microsoft using Azure, containing all the information about +2000 internal services worth several billions of dollars. Data stored in Azure Spend provides critical and strategic information to organizations leaders, business, and service owners so they can understand their cost structure, measure efficiency and plan future investments. In this role, you will be responsible for reimagining Azure Spend from a tool to a platform with data analytics insights enabling Azure Spend users to more easily understand charges, spend variations, cost structure, financial targets, future spend and potential opportunities to save.

You will leverage customer and business data to build a new platform with business insights and drive integrations across multiple organizations throughout Azure to ensure completeness and quality of the data. You shall:

  • Collect the customer requirements to develop strategy and drive execution for Azure spend platform.

  • Drive business results through a focus on objectives and key results, providing clarity to the engineering team and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality results.

  • Engage with customers to understand their needs and requirements.

  • Maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across engineering and partner teams.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of product/program management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering

  • Proven track record in delivering reliable, scalable and performant solutions.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral), ability to influence independent teams.

  • Self-motivated

  • Prior experience with developing or managing cloud platforms, and data science is a plus.
