The Security, Compliance, Identity, and Management Team is looking for a Principal Software Engineering Manager to help secure our customers. You will be leading a talented team of engineers chartered with protecting our services (and customers) from the threats they face in this quickly changing landscape of cybersecurity. As a Principal Software Engineering Manager on the Substrate Security Green Team, you will work with the larger security organization and the Exchange & Substrate product teams to identify areas of security risk, and drive improvements. The Substrate Green Team will be responsible for building security strategy, writing prototype and proof-of-concept code, working with teams to evangelize secure patterns, and driving architectural changes into the product to improve security outcomes at the scale of M365. Responsibilities

  • Manage and retain direct reports who deliver results that measurably improve the security of Exchange & Substrate services.

  • Prioritize and ensure delivery of projects which result in measurable improvements to the Substrate & Exchange security stance

  • Analyze and understand security threats to Exchange + Substrate, and lead the team to build durable solutions to address those threats

  • Lead the team in executing the dev-sec-ops approach to software delivery by designing, coding, testing, deploying changes in the Exchange + Substrate codebases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, withMaster’s in relevant areapreferred.

  • 6+ years information security experience, preferably with both engineering and operations experience.

  • 2+ yearstech lead experience, people management experience preferred

  • 2+ years in software development or with engineering large scale distributed systems.

  • Experience collaborating across large organizations & brining clarity to ambiguous problems

  • Fluency in coding, rapid prototyping, distributed systems

  • M365 Substrate or Exchange engineering experience preferable

  • PreviousMicrosoft experience would be beneficial.
