The charter of the Azure Security group is to ensure that Azure is the most secure and resilient cloud platform. Azure security team is responsible to build secure cloud infrastructure. This enables customers to confidently run their workloads. Azure security team builds security services like system integrity & health attestation, encryption & data protection for Azure platform at cloud scale. We are looking for a Principal Software Engineering Manager to build and lead Trusted computing infrastructure team for Azure . You will be responsible for building a team, shaping up strategy for trusted computing infrastructure in Azure and delivering integrity / attestation services for Azure platform. This is a rare opportunity to be at forefront of trusted computing wave. You will be working in a fast-paced environment to build and deliver highly available, distributed services end-to-end that integrate with core Azure components like Fabric, Firmware, Host OS, Host Agents and Monitoring.

This role that provides an opportunity to:

  • Build & grow a brand new team

  • Lead and build trusted computing infrastructure in Azure partnering with various organizations and companies.

  • Architect and build critical ring0 cloud security services that scale to millions of nodes.

Responsibilities

We are looking for experienced people & technical leaders who can build a team and deliver core cloud security services for entire Azure infrastructure. This role requires a technically proficient people manager who wants to have broad impact across Azure and industry.

Your primary responsibilities include building a team from ground up, leading a team of engineers by setting right goals for them, strategizing initiatives, providing direction for team, annual performance reviews, providing strong leadership support with model, coach & care philosophy.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience developing and shipping software/services.

  • 2+ years of management experience

Other Qualifications:

  • Experience in building & growing teams

  • Experience in working with partners across geo locations and time zones

  • Ability to coach & grow team members

  • Strong technical leadership to drive initiatives across organizations.

  • Passion in building and designing very large-scale systems; Prior experience in building large scale online systems is a big plus.

  • Security including firmware, boot and kernel components is a bonus.

  • Demonstrated problem solving and debugging skills.

  • Ability to multi-task while balancing short term and long-term needs is essential.

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, deliver in an agile environment, be willing to learn and adopt new technologies/industry trends and have good cross group collaboration skills.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
