Position Summary: As an Experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician, you will work closely with our veterinarians to provide high-quality care to our patients. Your role will include anesthesia, surgical assistance, and dentistry. You will also lead and mentor a team of passionate veterinary assistants, ensuring the clinic runs smoothly and that new team members are trained effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in surgeries and dental procedures, including anesthesia monitoring and surgical preparation
Provide anesthesia support and manage patient recovery
Perform dental cleanings and dental radiographs
Lead and mentor a team of veterinary assistants, providing guidance and training
Work closely with veterinarians to perform patient assessments and provide quality care
Ensure proper documentation of patient records, including treatment and procedures
Help manage clinic workflow, ensuring efficiency and patient care standards are met
Educate clients on at-home care, preventive treatments, and health concerns
Maintain medical equipment and inventory, ensuring everything is in working order
Maintain a safe and sterile environment in all treatment areas
Qualifications:
Current state licensure as a Veterinary Technician (LVT)
At least 2 years of experience as an LVT, with proficiency in anesthesia, surgical assistance, and dentistry
Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor and train team members
Excellent communication skills and a passion for patient care
Ability to multitask in a busy, fast-paced environment
Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
A positive, compassionate attitude and a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of animals and their families
