Microsoft Corporation Integration & Technical Infrastructure Management (ITIM) Director - Central Region in Redmond, Washington

Microsoft Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the team behind the cloud. CO+I is responsible for delivering over 200 Microsoft web portals, Live and Online Services around the world including infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering a trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide. We are looking for a passionate, high-energy individual to help build the network that powers the world’s largest online services. 

Currently the CO+I Datacenter Construction & Delivery (DCD) team is seeking an individual for Integration & Technical Infrastructure Management (ITIM) Director - Central Region to lead a team in the Eastern US and LATAM regions. This person will be leading a diverse and high performing team that is responsible for the delivery of our datacenter colo fit-out (telecom, electrical, and mechanical support systems) as well as system integration activities for all Microsoft owned and leased datacenter facilities. 

The AMERS-Central Regional lead will be responsible for managing the overall regional program delivery, ensuring alignment with both organizational and business priorities and commitments with a focused emphasis on delivering capacity Safely, Ethically, Reliably, and Predictably.

Responsibilities

People Management

  • Support, grow and develop a team of ITIM professionals including identification and management of vendor and Full Time Employee resourcing needs in region. Hire, on-board, manage and develop diverse talent across the Region in line with demand and workload needs. 

Project Management

  • Oversees the team's deployment of large-scale, campus, and/or regionally-based delivery solutions (e.g., new and/or retrofit data center solutions) while also socializing with regional and global leaders. Sets goals for internal and external project teams under their purview of responsibility, delegates responsibilities measures performance against contracted Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and seeks and delivers feedback to achieve timely results.

  • In cooperation with the Americas Regional Director and other Regional Construction Leaders this position aligns Global, regional and metro level delivery strategies to local team objectives, business processes, vendor management strategies, and cross-group collaboration efforts.  

Change Management

  • Influences the development and implementation of organizational policies and processes with Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) partners resulting in cost savings, enhanced customer service, or improved asset management.

  • Establish, manage, and measure against all regional commitments and performance targets (Safety, Quality, Schedule, & Cost).  

Drive Results

  • Influences and provides direction and coaching to internal and external partners to facilitate and accomplish complex, critical issues that may significantly impact global construction projects (e.g., establishing and executing upon team goals, following business processes, engaging vendor relationships, and fostering cross-group collaboration efforts with the agreed-upon project strategy and milestones).

  • Define regional metrics that ensure everyone is working towards the same goals and commitments as well as promotes success criteria, learning, and growth opportunities for all team members.  

Budget and Controls

  • Develops, manages, and reports on the scope, schedule, and budget of the project. Oversees and implements project controls in work activities (e.g., project expenditure requests (PERs), Professional Service Requests (PSRs), change orders, and pay applications).

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 12+ years related experience

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Prior experience with Client and/or Contractor side onsite Datacenter construction or management. 

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 15+ years related experience

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 15+ years experience working on data center projects.

  • 10+ years project management experience.

  • 10+ years people management experience.

  • RCDD or equivalent technical accreditation preferred. 

Construction Project Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $273,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $299,400 per year.
