Job Overview / Summary Description Reporting to the JLL Horticulture Sr. Program Manager, the Horticulturist III performs general horticulture oversight and management duties at various sites across Amazon properties in Seattle, WA, or Arlington, VA, USA. They also oversee general operations properly and in compliance with legal requirements, industry best practices, JLL standards, and Amazon's expectations. Primary Duties / Essential Job Functions Work Scope: As a member of the Global Real Estate & Facilities (GREF) team, this position will be responsible for managing the day-to-day horticultural operations of The Spheres (SEA46) and other horticultural aspects of Amazon's Seattle, Bellevue, or Arlington, VA-based Corporate Headquarters. The successful candidate is a self-starter who must be comfortable operating on both strategic and tactical levels, simultaneously acting as an internal ambassador, educator, and implementer. The optimal candidate is an experienced and vibrant professional who excels within an entrepreneurial culture-providing vision, leadership, and communication-but not afraid to dive into details. Having passion and in-depth knowledge of the horticultural world is critical. This individual also has experience in maintaining high quality interior & exterior plant displays. Collaborating with Sr. Program Manager with regard to strategic planning Oversight of training and safety regulations including safety training Manage inventory and ordering of equipment and supplies Create meeting agendas Conduct team meetings and walkthroughs and generate task lists resulting from walkthroughs Report key performance indicator (KPI) data on a monthly basis and contribute to client-provided monthly business reports Research and care for rare one-of-a-kind plant specimens Visually inspect zones or areas of oversight on daily basis Prioritization of tasks as they relate to plant health, and display quality Schedule trainings, arborist visits, etc., as needed and at request of client and Program Delivery Manager. Demonstrate excellent communication skills Help arrange exhibit planning and delivery, plant propagation needs, etc. In partnership with, and at direction of, Amazon clients this individual will: Perform high-level horticulture maintenance in assigned Amazon facilities, including watering, propagation, pest control, and pruning Manage plant collection development Oversee plant procurement and acquisitions Manage Horticulture projects such special displays and exhibits Manage the cultivation and transfer of plant material to and from various sites via motor vehicle Manage Horticulture projects Location-Specific Essential Functions: Seattle, WA or Arlington, VA: Discourse with Amazon clients, partners, and the public to educate them about plants, biophilia, conservation, and other horticulture-related topics Attend training on safe chemical usage, etc. and implement learnings in daily practice Attend Spheres OPs meeting and report information to Sr. Program Manager and Amazon clients, as needed Report and evaluate failures of environmental supports to Facilities Engineer Works with vendor manager and liaises with exterior landscape maintenance staffs to oversee exterior landscape Supports tenant improvement projects at Amazon-owned and leased sites Partner with Amazon Community Landscape Manager on exterior projects Maintain inventory and storage of pesticides and chemicals and associated Safety Data Sheets Liaise with partner institutions on collection development, conservation projects and other plant exchanges Other Functions: Carry out other duties as assigned by supervisor and Amazon clients Experience / Skills Ability to recognize pest and disease issues in the landscape Ability and interest in multi-tasking and staff development Apply principles of rationa
