Microsoft Corporation Hardware Lab Logistical Program Manager in Redmond, Washington

Microsoft’s hardware teams incubate advanced technologies and build deep partnerships with internal research, product planning, and marketing teams. Microsoft ships tens of millions of hardware products every year, including Azure Xbox, Surface devices, HoloLens, accessories, and much more. The HW Lab Management Team is growing at a fast pace to support many groups that are working on various exciting products. The HW Lab Logistical Program Manager is key in maintaining the effectiveness of the labs to support the success of all HW programs.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Drive the logistics of managing multiple HW labs across various locations

  • Supervise a small team of lab technicians/vendors

  • Collaborate across teams for lab alignment and lab resource sharing

  • Oversee HW lab allocations across the organization per program needs

  • Coordinate lab builds with Real Estate Services, facilities, and contractor/trades

  • Promote lab safety measures and provide the necessary safety training

  • Maintain lab security thru badge access across HW secured lab spaces

  • Manage procurement process and lab budget

  • Regulate lab inventories including test samples, equipment, and other lab materials

  • Handle process for shipping and receiving of lab materials

  • Ensure proper storage and disposal of sensitive and non-sensitive lab materials

  • Work with IT on network issues and other PC related items

  • Promote a clean and organized hardware lab

  • Generate and maintain appropriate and necessary lab documentation


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant degree

  • 4+ years of program management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong track record of leadership skills and experience working with diverse teams

  • Experience in providing lab support in silicon validation and systems testing

  • Experience in server industry a plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Good organizational and documentation skills

  • Collaborative, flexible

  • Problem-solver, self-motivated

  • Energetic with ability to engage in fast-paced work environment

  • Website or SharePoint development a plus

  • Experience in Azure DevOps and Power BI helpful

  • MS Office skills: Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check. This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
