Microsoft Corporation Director, Business Architecture, Modern Work Transformation in Redmond, Washington

Microsoft has a unique role to play as customers transition to Hybrid Work, where they will have to adopt a new operating model spanning people, places, and processes. The Modern Work Solution area plays a critical role in defining the GTM for Hybrid Work, in partnership with corporate stakeholders with the goal to ensure that the field has all the tools necessary to be successful in accompanying our customers through that journey. This will require deeper engagements beyond IT by establishing connections with BDMs. As the Business Architecture Lead for Transformation, you will lead a team of Business Architects to define the core sales approach by the field, across workloads that are focused on engaging BDMs such as Employee Experience (Viva), Frontline worker and Power BI to help them through the journey.

Partnering with colleagues in corporate leadership roles in Engineering, Marketing and Sales, this role will be critical in defining the right field model to accelerate our growth in the Transformation workloads such as Employee Experience (Viva), Frontline worker and Power BI. This leader will be a visible advocate for the field and will be counted on to represent the voice of the field and customers across our corporate functions.

Responsibilities

As a leader for the Modern Work business, you will:

People Management

Business management

  • Lead and drive the fiscal year vNext planning process which includes the following business levers:

  • Budget

  • Blueprint and capacity

  • Sales model design, role orchestration and Go to Market strategy.

  • Incentives and compensation

  • Engage and influence a large number of corporate and field stakeholders to drive alignment around the plan.

  • Represent business and technical needs/feedback in key leadership forums with engineering and business leaders.

  • Support monthly SLT review process and own special topics.

  • Assess current year performance and provide course correction recommendations.

  • Ensure right metrics and KPIs in place to achieve right outcomes for our customers and measure progress over time.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must be dynamic, passionate, self-motivated, confident in working with senior leaders and comfortable in a matrix organization. They need to be able to gain the trust and confidence of the stakeholders across the organization and be a visible leader who can drive results through influencing the work of others. The candidate must a capable manager who embraces the value of diversity and creates an empowering and inclusive environment. The ideal candidate will also have experience positioning Transformation solutions and partner integration to help drive customers transformation. The candidate should have deep understanding of a wide range of audiences with a special focus on BDMs and the C Suite.

  • Experience working directly with senior sales executives and as part of a field sales team.

  • Experience working in the Transformation workloads (e.g., Viva, Frontline Worker, Power BI)

  • Experience building forward-looking performance indicators.

  • A track record of delivering complex projects that have measurable results.

  • 10+ years of distinguished experience in engineering/sales/GTM roles

  • 10-15% International travel

  • Experience in subsidiaries/areas (emerging/developed countries)

  • Excellent internal and external communications skills are required (written, verbal/presentation)
