Microsoft Corporation Construction Cost Analyst in Redmond, Washington
Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO+I) is the team behind the cloud. CO+I is responsible for delivering over 200 Microsoft web portals, Live and Online Services around the world including infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, globalization, and manageability. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide. We are looking for a Construction Cost Analyst to help achieve that mission.
This role is located either in one or all hub locations - Atlanta, GA, Phoenix, AZ, Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX, or Washington, DC. Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidate must relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location. This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to 100%.

Responsibilities
Deliver timely and insightful data for Leadership reporting while offering valuable insights for strategic decision-making
Provide meaningful support for annual capital planning by conducting analysis of historical data, project costs, and resource allocation
Develop, maintain and advocate the use of interactive dashboards that provide real-time insights into construction project data
Apply analytical techniques to conduct data analysis on diverse construction related data
Work collectively with partner teams within Project Controls and Construction to enhance data-driven decision making and align efforts to drive improved project and portfolio performance
Implement predictive analytics by using historical data to predict and analyze what will happen in the future
Accept responsibility for managing substantial volumes of construction-related data and ensuring data integrity

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years related experience in a construction project management or project controls role with responsibility to understand and analyze cost and schedule project performance
OR equivalent experience.
Demonstrated ability to generate descriptive and predictive insights from data via analytic methods.
Advanced experience with Excel, SharePoint, Visio, Python and Power BI
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
7+ years experience working on data center projects.
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years related experience
OR equivalent experience.
Construction industry experience with a background in project controls functions managing complex, multi-group, multi-disciplinary projects.
Ability to build collaborative relationships and develop support from a wide variety of stakeholders including cost management and scheduling teams, design and engineering managers, construction managers as well as finance partners, software engineers and various levels of executives.
Effective communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with a demonstrated commitment to data-driven decision-making and program management skills
Advanced ability to develop, update and maintain reporting dashboards using software packages such as Python & Power BI
Construction Project Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
