Aerotek Fiberglass Tech 18-23HRLY Day Shift in REDMOND, Oregon

Aerotek is seeking a Fiberglass Technician who is has basic mechanical skill sets, is comfortable around strong chemical smells, wearing PPE, and lifting/on their feet/ kneeling throughout the day. The ideal candidate will be completing training for the 1st 2-weeks alongside the Supervisor and Team Members. Duties include fabrication, assembly, performing composite hand lay-up and infusion with woven and chop strand fiberglass mats along with polyester and vinyl ester resin systems. This is a M-F work week and shift times are flexible with a 7am or 8am start. The company has incredible benefits and opportunity for growth. Additional Skills & Qualifications:

•Fabricate, assemble, and perform composite hand lay-up and infusion – woven and chop strand fiberglass mat with polyester and Vinyl Ester resin systems.

•Apply knowledge of bonding techniques, utilize precision instruments, hand tools, power tools and equipment.

•Work from process sheets, or verbal instructions identifying the type and sequence of operations needed to construct a variety of parts used to produce composite structures to meet customer requirements.

•Prepare tooling/fixturing used for fabrication and coupon testing.

•Recognize or learn to solve in-process conditions such as excess or insufficient resin, trapped air pockets or delamination.

•Prepare ingredients, such as resins, catalysts, fillers, accelerators, and colors, according to process.

•Set up and release molds of various surfaces, apply reinforcements and resins to shape simple and complex parts that can be removed from the mold surfaces.

•Cut material to size, using shears, knives, cutters, scissors, router, or saw.

•Lay out cutting lines on materials, such as sheet stock, fiberglass, or core maximum, following template pattern, blueprints, sketches, or sample part, using measuring and marking instruments.

•Cure product with various methods of operation.

•Verify work using measuring devices, height gauges, dial indicators, micrometers, etc.

•Complete paperwork as needed to create part documentation.

•Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

•Training of hard and soft skills provided.

•Maintain effective housekeeping in the area of work and shop.

•Observe all safety rules and regulations.

•Demonstrate ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of individuals within and outside the company, to maximize equipment, manufacturing reliability, and productivity.

•High attention to detail.

•Some computer skills including electronic messaging.
