AXIS is seeking a Senior Property Claims Specialist to join our North America Claims team. Reporting to the manager of Property Claims, handles claims to determine nature of loss, coverage provided, and scope of claim and to make recommendation regarding settlement/disposition of claims. This role acts as the highest-level individual contributor handling a pending of complex E & S Property claims. Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external partners.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Exercises proper judgment and decision making to analyze the claims exposure, to determine the proper course of action and to appropriately settle the claim

• Utilizes critical thinking and solid judgment to solve problems, makes decisions and resolves complex issues inherent in handling losses, as well as plans and organizes activities throughout the claim’s management process

• Documents damage or loss associated with claim timely and effectively and in a manner which supports the outcome of the claim file

• Investigates potentially fraudulent claims and takes appropriate action

• Makes recommendations for settlement/disposition of claims

• Attends mediations, arbitrations and other claim meetings as needed

• Interacts extensively with various parties involved in the claim process

• Participate in presentations and discussions with Underwriters

Required Education/Training and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree required

• Minimum of 5-10 years property claims adjusting experience required.

• Experience should include in:

• Technical knowledge, skills, and training within the field to include:

o Confidence in coverage, liability, evaluation and reserving

o Solid negotiation and good settlement skills

o Supervisory perspective, with experience providing direction and authority to adjusters

• Valid licenses by state as required and add states to certifications as needed

• Availability for occasional travel

For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of $110K – $137.5K (GA). Your salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors including your specific experience and work location.
