Robert Half Technical Writer in Reading, Pennsylvania

Description We are seeking a Technical Writer in Reading, Pennsylvania. This role involves creating and maintaining technical documentation, working closely with various department heads to understand and document processes, and ensuring all documentation is consistent and up-to-date. This role offers a contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with different department heads to gather information on current workflows and procedures.

• Analyze the efficiency of existing processes and propose improvements where necessary.

• Review and update existing policies and procedures for accuracy and completeness.

• Develop and write clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for various departments.

• Plan and execute consolidation of existing policies and procedures into a master policy where possible.

• Ensure the uniformity of all documentation by creating templates for future use.

• Maintain an up-to-date documentation repository and ensure all documents are accessible to relevant stakeholders.

• Edit and revise existing documents as new updates come in from process owners.

• Use AWS Glue and other technical writing software to create, manage, and present documentation. Requirements • Demonstrated ability in technical writing, especially within the technology industry.

• Proficiency with AWS Glue, with a focus on data extraction, transformation, and loading.

• Ability to simplify complex technical concepts and translate them into clear, concise documentation.

• Excellent command over English language, with superior grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills.

• Proven experience in creating user manuals, FAQs, and other customer-facing technical content.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines.

• Familiarity with industry standard documentation tools.

• Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, product, and support teams.

• Bachelor's degree in technical writing, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
