Inventory Flow Senior Specialist

Location: Latrobe PA, or Reading, PA

POSITION SUMMARY : This is a senior-level specialist role, accountable for all types of inventories and optimizing material flow across the manufacturing operations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE SENIOR SPECIALIST\ Work closely with the procurement group to secure raw materials when needed.\ Review inventory quantities (levels) and prices; thus, developing tools and work processes to improve strategic buying capability of raw materials; thus, creating better than market price index purchases of raw materials\ Optimize the scrap and alloy material mix. Maximize profitability of scrap charge usage.\ Work closely with all SAO operations teams to increase product throughput velocity across all SAO work centers.\ Establish appropriate WIP levels of inventory and safety stock levels across all SAO work centers.\ Determine the SAO manufacturing system actual lead-times and cause-effect impact on inventory levels across SAO.\ Create and implement workflow processes and procedures to eliminate inventory holds and drive level loading of the SAO plants.\ Proactively review all aging inventory -Develop disposition plans as needed.\ Drive alignment of inventory on-hand to meet market demand, and determine the impact of forecasting error; thus, leading to stock outages.\ Design, implement, and maintain with the procurement group a plan to manage Maintenance, Repair and Operating (MRO) supplies consistent production volume demands.\ Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIRED FOR THE SENIOR SPECIALIST\ Four-year college degree with a concentration in Business, Industrial or Inventory Management, Operations Planning or Logistics.\ Minimum of two years of experience in Order Scheduling, Production Planning, Inventory Management, Logistics or Manufacturing Management.\ 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing planning or operations environment.\ Experience with any ERP Software Systems; SAP Preferred\ Knowledgeable on Programming language such as; SQL.\ Working knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and other data collection resources.

PREFERRED FOR THE SENIOR SPECIALIST\ APICS certification desired\ Proven track record driving compliance with inventory flow and management.\ Leadership roles in cross-discipline teams or projects.\ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, problem solving skills, with the ability to influence and get buy in from line management.
