Wieland Heyco is hiring a Manufacturing Helper. The Manufacturing Helper will be responsible for assisting operators in the facility, handling material from one department to another such as banding, skidding, weighing, and identifying. You will be responsible for quality checks and utilizing the computer to enter information. We are looking for candidates to grow into other roles such as machine operators. This role is located in Reading, PA and will be fully on-site. We are located at 1069 Stinson Drive | Reading, PA Starting Pay: $17.83 per hour during the 6-8 week training period. After transitioning to 2nd or 3rd shift, you will receive an additional $1.25 or $1.75 per hour shift differential. (Potential to earn up to $22 per hour with a productivity bonus based upon productivity levels achieved.) Base rate progression for a general helper is based on attendance. After a total of 8 months earnings are over $25 per hour. Schedule: Training will be held on 1st shift ( 7am - 3 pm) After training you will move to 3rd shift ( 11pm - 7 am) OR 2nd Shift (3 pm - 11 pm) NO MANDATORY OVERTIME PAID LUNCHES PAID HOLIDAY AND VACATION
Responsibilities
Manufacturing Helper Responsibilities: To comply with all safety regulations while in the plant. To review the mill card prior to processing in order to understand the requirements. To assist at the assigned slitting machines as needed. To handle material from slitting to shipping in the following manner: Banding Skidding Weighing Identifying Returning material to stock as necessary. To complete all quality checks and to enter the required information onto the mill card. To comply with the Heyco Quality System at all times during processing. To keep the work area clean. Physical Demands: Frequent standing, bending, stooping. Frequent walking. Some lifting and carrying short distances (40 lbs. max.). Manual dexterity needed to perform activities Manufacturing Helper Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be mechanically inclined. Must have the ability to learn computer operation. Must have the ability to learn how to read a micrometer Ability to complete light industrial math
