We are looking for a Managing Director with experience in the areas of market research, project acquisition, customer service, consulting, personnel management, and administration. You will join the team at one of our three sites and help drive forward the team and the company

What team will I be part of? You will be part of the leadership team based in the UK, reporting to the International Leader for Sensory & Consumer Research. 

As a Managing Director you will: 

Lead our Sensory & Consumer Research business in the UK, which consists of 3 sites and a team of 60+ people. 

Develop a high-quality strategic plan to expand the business and position in the UK market.

Lead and facilitate the sales & marketing activities and become a trusted and reliable partner to customers. 

Drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, productivity and bottom-line results, providing hands on support on statistics, analysis and interpretation of results, visualising and client report presentation. 

Ensure that relationships with all clients are positive, with high levels of customer satisfaction in place.  Attend and lead meetings as needed alongside the Commercial team, with key clients and develop in depth knowledge of customer requirements.

Support and develop innovative sensory and consumer research solutions for our clients.

Initiate and drive change, setting up action plans with clear-cut distribution of responsibilities.

Improve the technical and scientific aspects of the business units by ensuring the appropriate development and application of new techniques and business processes.   

Hire, motivate, develop and retain excellent Business Unit Managers and department heads.

You are skilled in project management and developing and implementing a sales & business strategy in a consumer research, sensory or market research organisation. You have solid financial acumen, good communication skills and resilience. 

Background: You bring a minimum of 3 years of leadership experience, of which at least 1 year has been in a P&L management role. You have demonstrated experience of facilitating growth, operational improvement and motivating teams of 20+ people. 

Education: You have a Bachelors degree or diploma in food science, statistics, economics or any other relevant discipline. 

Language: Proficiency in English is a must.

Location: You are based in the United Kingdom and able to work from our offices near London or Nottingham and can travel between our 3 offices when needed.
