As Government Affairs Manager, you’ll be responsible for supporting the Government Affairs Lead in shaping a favorable external environment in the UK that supports the company's strategic objectives.

The role will work with GBU Corporate Affairs Leads to implement cross GBU initiatives to:

  • Positively disrupt the external policy environment to improve the commercial environment for life sciences, speed up patient access to medicines and support future innovation.

  • Grow our profile externally to help us to achieve our ambition of being an industry-leading company.

  • Achieve market access for our pipeline products.

  • Support the growth of our priority brands.

The Government Affairs Manager is also responsible for providing strategic environmental and public affairs insights to the Corporate Affairs Team and working in close partnership with Global Corporate Affairs on UK opportunities and initiatives.

Main responsibilities:

  • Work in partnership with the Corporate Affairs Team to deliver a Government Affairs Strategy to:

  • Positively disrupt the external environment to help the UK to achieve its ambition of being a life sciences superpower that gives patients timely access to innovative medicines, incentivises UK investment for Life Sciences companies and supports appropriate pricing and reimbursement of indication-based agreements.

  • Support the development of a One Sanofi messaging and company story in the UK & Ireland to support our external engagement and enhance our reputation as an industry leader.

  • Support Government Affairs Lead on political engagement programme with key stakeholders e.g. ministers, parliamentarians, senior civil servants and patient advocacy.

  • Develop Sanofi responses to relevant government consultations and provide strategic input into NHS led consultations.

  • In collaboration with the broader Corporate Affairs team, maximise opportunities to engage with policy developments impacting access, pricing and reimbursement.

  • Support industry association engagement (ABPI and EMG) where Sanofi has a leading voice.

  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the UKIE policy environment and likely future trends and developments and provide strategic intelligence to the Corporate Affairs Team to leverage external environmental developments.

  • Maintain a detailed stakeholder map of national decision makers and influencers, including parliamentarians, civil servants, ministers, patient organisations and pressure groups and maintain a network of contacts to build awareness of Sanofi positions and achieve key policy change.
