COOK - Full Time, Part Time and On Call Positions Available

POSITION SUMMARY: The Cook position supports the kitchen team by preparing and serving wholesome, nutritious meals. Insures that youth health needs are met by adhering to meal plans and change orders from the Consulting Dietitian and the Health Services Department. The duties of the Cook position are performed in compliance with the guidelines of HACCP.

COMPENSATION:

$15.23 per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: 1. Prepare nutritious meals according to approved menus, in proper quantities and in compliance with health and sanitation requirements daily. 2. Clean and sanitize work stations immediately after each use. 3. Serve meals on time and in compliance with health and sanitation requirements. 4. Prepare and cut meats as needed to meet menu requirements. 5. Properly label and store food preparations in compliance with health & sanitation requirements daily. 6. Pull stock for food preparation daily. 7. Assist with receiving, stocking and inventory rotation daily. 8. Bake breads and pastries as needed. 9. Responsible for shutting down the dietary department and securing the area prior to leaving at the end of the shift. 10. May help organize and carry out the details of any special luncheon, dinner or party. 11. Assists with washing dishes and clean up after daily meals. 12. May package food supplies for cottage meals as requested. 13. Attends all mandatory in-service training and regularly attends supervision meetings. Attends other training and in-services as needed to maintain a level of expertise in the field. 14. Any additional duties assigned by immediate supervisor

SKILL, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Education and/or Professional Qualifications/Skills  High School Diploma/GED  One year field related experience preferred  Knowledge of quantity cooking and use of commercial kitchen equipment preferred.
