Job Description

Analyze specifications, set-up and operate machine tools to make and repair a sequence of operations such as fabricating tools, dies, jigs or fixtures. Must have knowledge of design techniques, tools and principals involved in production of precision technical plans and drawings. Follows established procedures on routine work, minimal guidance on established procedures, requires instruction on new assignments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Study drawings and specifications to plan operation.

  • Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring tools such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers and dial indicators.

  • Hand lathe, mill, punch press, high precision (.0002”) capability required

  • Set-up and operate conventional or computer numerically controlled machine tools.

  • Fit and assemble parts to make and repair parts per specification.

  • Conduct test runs with tools to ensure parts meet specifications, making adjustments as necessary.

  • Verifies conformance of finished product to specifications.

  • Handles problems with moderate complexity; performs basic troubleshooting and identifies processes with minor error rates.

  • Helps to identify and repair minor machine malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls as required.

Education and/or Experience

High School diploma and some degree of vocational or technical training and a minimum of 2-4 years of directly related experience.

Salary Range:

$59,400.00-$79,310.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
